A Couple Product Reviews

Here is a review of a few of my favorite training products I am using right now. I wrote a little something about compression socks a couple weeks ago, and in case you missed it, I wrote there is no independent research that shows wearing compression socks while running is beneficial. There is quite a bit of independent research that says they are very effective in the aid of recovery. I ran 18 this morning, right after I showered I got them on and and wore them all day. The ones I am wearing are from Sugoi. I got them last year and they have held up really well, and that goes for everything I've got from Sugoi. I like these with full feet. They do have calf sleeves, I don't care for those.

I am doing Ironman Canada next August, so I wanted to get some new training ideas. I know Joe Friel from his work he has done with Training Peaks so I thought I'd give his book a try - Going Long. It has very sound training advice and a very clear plan for endurance training. If you are looking for some guidance, this is a great book.

I recently needed to get some headphones because my last ones gave out. I literally purchased and returned to Best Buy 5 pairs of earphones. They would not stay in my ears when I was running, it drove me nuts. Then I came across these ie2's from Bose.
They are about $100, a little pricey for me, but they sound amazing and they stay in place. The extra little rubber piece that goes inside your ear is innovative and comfortable. I ran with them in the rain and I wore them in high temperatures, and unlike other headphones there was no problem with the sound or the positioning.
