Jarod's Climb

I promised you more pictures of Jarod's epic climb and we here at Ralph's Blog pride ourselves in following through with our promises. I had a chance to catch up with Jarod today and here is the run down. Day One: 7-8 hour climb from the car to their base camp. That was the cool picture I put up last week. Day Two: Hike about 6 hours and set up their "high camp". That's the picture below with the tent. I think Jarod is brushing his teeth in that picture. Day Three: 5am start, summit by 11am at 14,400 feet. Jarod said they spent about 15 minutes at the summit and said alright lets hit it. They were actually back at the car via a different route that same night (most people take an extra day to get down). Although Jarod has been up Raineer before, what made this climb so challenging and special is they did the Liberty Ridge route which is a highly technical and advanced route (bad asses only).
You can tell Jarod's climbing buddy was pretty psyched to have his picture taken. The bottom left picture is the last stretch up to the summit. Congratulations Jarod on your accomplishment.
