Every morning I have 1 cup of oatmeal for breakfast. I started off with the instant envelopes but they had way too much sugar and other crap in them. I tried the stone cut but I don't want to spend 15 minutes making oatmeal in the morning. I tried the frozen Trader Joe's pucks but I am way too cheap to do that every morning. I have hit on a practical, healthy, cheap way to make oatmeal that tastes good.
Using good old fashioned Quaker Oats instant oatmeal I add chopped raw almonds and - now here is the secret part - two pumps of sugar free vanilla coffee syrup into the mix. It gives it flavor and a touch of sweetness without adding calories and it's delicious.
