My Visit to Oregon

I just got back from our Oregon Club a few hours ago and I wanted to get a few of my impressions down right away while they were still fresh in my head. I had a few reasons to go up, but the biggest was the quarterly walkthrough I do at each of the properties. Oregon is the first of 6 I will do over the next 5 weeks. I hope all my walkthroughs go as well as this one. I want to thank Jason Schlager, Facility Director, and the entire associate team for their preparation, the Club looked outstanding. Not only did they prepare heavily the few days before, they also did all the hard work the weeks and months before to stay ready. I have a little speech about the walkthroughs I give to new people, I gave it to Scott yesterday. There is the spirit of the walkthrough, and that's cleaning and fixing for the members, it's our culture and a pillar of our company. Then there is the game of the walkthrough and that's about and scrambling at the last minute and working for every point available . I appreciate both aspects.
In doing about 10,000 walkthroughs in the last 15 years I know a property will do well when all the associates participate and are bought into the culture of clean and fixed. I know the Leadership Team has to encourage, coach, and model the right behaviors for newer and younger staff. What it really comes down to it, our members are doing a walkthrough on our properties every time they come in. Some have a tougher eye than others, but they are all making a judgement every time they set foot in the place. We all know their opinions count the most.
To Jarod, Jason, and all the associates at ClubSport Oregon thank you for a job well done.

In the coming days I will have more reports on my visit and I will introduce to a few more ORG associates.
