Some of you know I have been working with my neighbor, high school junior cross country runner Jake, this season. Monday night we did a track workout together and he absolutely kicked my butt. I thought it was ironic that a day after I posted how I got faster Jake showed me the reality of the situation. I find solace in the notion that speed is relative.
Jake will be competing in his final race of the season this Saturday at NCS Finals in Hayward. It has been a fun and rewarding experience working with Jake this season, I am bummed out the season is over. I am not sure Jake feels the same way.

On another high school sports note, Brian Amador's son Nick made the freshman boys soccer team at Del La Salle. Congratulations to the Amadors, that is an awesome achievement.
