This is the time of the year when I start planning next year's race schedule. I am pretty excited about what I have lined up for the first half of 2010. In February, Superbowl Sunday, I am doing the Kaiser Half Marathon in San Francisco. Big Brian Amador is has also signed up for that race so that should be fun, I haven't done a race with Brian in about 5 years.
In March I am doing the 25th LA Marathon. I did the very first and third LA Marathon when we still lived in LA. The course starts at Dodger Stadium in downtown LA and works it's way west to end in Santa Monica. This race will be my big challenge for the first half of the year.
In July I am doing the Vineman 1/2 Ironman in Napa. I've done this race twice before and it's always very hot. I haven't done it in a couple years so it will be nice to go back.
TEAM ClubSport is doing the San Jose Olympic tri in June, I plan on doing that one too. It's a very fun race, I did that one this year.
This is where we talk about you. What challenges have you lined up for yourself next year? A 5k, 10k, a bike ride, a hike? Sky's the limit but at some point you have to make a commitment to it before you can set off on your journey to do it. You only have 10 days left in this decade but a whole new decade awaits you with endless opportunities. Do it.
