A State of Mind

This awesome poem was shared from Jason Schlager and Jarod Cogswell. Jason works with a local high school football team and the head coach recites this poem with his athletes before each game. I had the opportunity to witness it first hand last year and it was quite moving. I was reminded of this poem after thinking about the challenges we have faced this year and will continue to face into next. It gives me the chills and fires me up each time I read it, I hope you enjoy.

A State of Mind
Anonymous

If you think you are beaten, your are
If you think you dare not, you won't,
If you like to win, but don't think you can
It's almost a cinch you won't
If you think you'll lose, you're lost
For out in the world you find,
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in a state of mind

For many a game is lost
Ere even a play is run,
And many a coward fails
Ere even his work is begun
Think big and your deeds will grow
Think small and you'll fall behind
Think that you can and you will
It's all a state of mind

If you think you are out-classed, your are
You've got to think high to rise
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize
Life battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can

Renaissance ClubSport Walnut Creek has been nominated as Best Hotel in the Bay Area and we are now in the voting period. Many of you have stayed at the hotel, visited, or heard about it so log in and vote. Tell your friends, lets get us to number 1.
Cast your vote at http://bestofthebaytv.com/vote/181/818 We are currently number 2 behind a hotel in San Francisco.
UPDATE - From Janine
We are up from 53 to 84 votes now in the Best of the Bay competition for the best hotel. Some of you have contacted me to let me know that when you registered your vote you received a prompt indicating that you had already voted for this nominee before. If you have not voted before, your vote will be counted despite what the prompt indicates. It will not, however, allow you to vote more than once. You must exit the website and log back on to see that your vote has been recorded. There is a delay of about 5-10 minutes before this occurs.

Do You Zumba?

Last Saturday we had about 225 crazed Zumba dancers in the gym at ClubSport Fremont. There was live music and a ton of energy in the room for this huge event. This was the only Zumba-Fest that will take place in northern California this year. Louise, Fremont's Membership Director, who also is a Zumba instructor was part of the teaching team for this event. The word is John O'Donovan has made a commitment to participate in next year's Zumba-Fest, that should be something to see.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Events

On September 20th in Portland and September 27th in San Francisco the Susan G. Komen for the Cure walks took place and ClubSport was there with the super stylish shirts. The 5k walk kicked-off ClubSport's Breast Cancer month in October. You can see it was a beautiful day in both cities and everyone had a great time. The photo below is the Oregon Team and the photo right is the LSI/Walnut Creek Team.
